Definitions
Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:
- Cookies strictly necessary: These cookies are essential (technical cookies) for the proper functioning of the Geocart S.p.A.’ websites and are used to manage the login and access to private functions of the site. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the work session (closed the browser are deleted), with the exception of cookie policy used cookies of longer duration (30 day) designed to recognize, for such a limited period, the visitor's computer - through an alpha-numeric code generated at the first login session - so to propose again the result of the test performed by the user. Their deactivation compromises the use of services accessible by login.
- Cookies analysis and performance: Cookies are used to collect and analysethe traffic and use of the site anonymously. These cookies, but without identifying the user, allow, for example, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow you to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. The deactivation of these cookies can be performed without any loss of functionality.
- Cookies profiling: They are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) the user preferences and enhance their browsing experience. The Geocart S.pA.’ sites do not use this type of cookies.
Third-party cookies
By visiting a website you may receive cookies both from the site visited ("owners"), and from websites maintained by other organizations ("third parties"). A considerable example is the presence of "social plugin" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. They are parts of the visited page directly generated from these sites and integrated into the host site page. The most common use of social plugin is aimed at sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies from andto all sites operated by third parties. The management of the information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relevant information to which refer. To ensure a greater transparency and convenience, here below are reported the web addresses of the different information and ways to manage cookies.

Duration of cookies
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until you close the browser or the execution of the command logout. Other cookies "survive" the closure of the browser and are also available in future visits. These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases there is fixed a deadline, in other cases the duration is unlimited. Geocart S.p.A., with the exception of the choice of cookie policy, in relation to which the information are exclusively stored for technical purposes, does not use persistent cookies.
However, navigating on the pages of Geocart S.p.A.’ websites, you can interact with sites operated by third parties that can create or modify persistent and profiling cookies.
Management of cookies
The user can decide whether to accept cookies using the settings on your browser.
Warning: Disabling all or part of the technical cookies can compromise the use of the functionality of the site (e.g. registration form). On the contrary, the usability of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies.
Disabling “third-party cookies” does not prejudge in any way the navigability.
The setting can be specifically defined for different websites and web applications. Moreover, the best browsers allow you to define different settings for "owners" cookies and “third-party cookies”. For example, in Firefox through the menu Tools-> Options -> Privacy, it is possibile to access to a control panel where you can specify whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and remove them.
