GEO 3D INSPECTION | Development of an innovative software platform for data analysis and display to support infrastructure management decisions

Geo 3D Inspection

The Geo3D Inspection software is a natural development of the Geoviewer platform and Geo3D tool created by Geocart in 2001. In both its DESKTOP and WEB versions, the software is an innovative integrated dashboard of solutions aimed at analyzing and displaying geographical/geo-referenced information. The system, equipped with a GIS engine, enables us to display and compare data coming from heterogeneous sources in an integrated and simultaneous way. Through temporal or geographic links, it is possible to combine high resolution images and video, thermal images, and LiDAR point clouds in a single operating interface, making it easier to acquire measurements and sections and assess the conditions of the electrical infrastructure's components. It is both a user-friendly application and a powerful calculation tool that allows integrated data management. Geo3D Inspection has additional and interesting features that enable us to optimize the internal processing methods and, at the same time, meet our customers' needs more effectively. The main functions of the software are the integration with the main DBMS, the automatic search of problems, the determination of safety distances, the client-server architecture, and the automatic extractions of altitude profiles. Geo3D Inspection also allows us to perform what-if analyses, based on validated mathematical models, which simulate potential future scenarios and alterations of the status quo, such as changes in the catenaries due to exogenous factors (e.g., atmospheric agents), identification of trees' interferences, calculation of the fall radius and simulation of the electromagnetic field propagation through the line.

CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING | Integrated , multi-sensor system for the digitization and diagnostics of infrastructure and cultural heritage

CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING

The CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING research project aims to develop an innovative and highly competitive detection tool. The study's goal is to identify a reliable and multifunctional, integrated, multi-sensor data acquisition system. The distinctive feature of the platform is its perfect modularity and adaptability to different scenarios. It can be installed on multiple carriers (aircraft, helicopters, drones, vehicles) and adapted to the characteristics of each of them, allowing a wide spectrum of data and high-resolution images to be captured. CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING provides precise target characterization for all levels of analysis and can acquire data to generate a complete digital twin and a complex database. The range of potential applications is extremely wide. We can survey objects such as the natural or anthropic elements of the landscape and especially the infrastructure, both in urban and suburban areas (electrical networks, road or rail networks, public lighting, urban furniture). In these areas, CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING validly supports data collection for network vulnerability analysis, decision making, and infrastructure monitoring planning. Therefore, thanks to this system, we can develop highly complex predictive surveys. In addition, the platform plays an extremely important role in the cultural heritage sector. Heritage digitization opens new frontiers not only in the management, but also in the cataloging, conservation, and enjoyment of Digital Heritage. Therefore, through the detection, data storage and development of digital twin, CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING promotes new methods of knowledge acquisition, management, and dissemination.

In a nutshell, CROSS-PLATFORM MAPPING is an innovative and versatile project, a winning example of Geocart's commitment in searching and offering tailor-made solutions to meet our customers' needs. SUGGESTUS | Digital intelligence platform for immersive use of Cultural Heritage

The SUGGESTUS, Research and Development Project, funded by MISE under "Large R&D Projects - PON Enterprise and Competitiveness ERDF 2014/2020", aims to integrate into one single architecture a number of systems that are able to improve the immersive experience of cultural heritage. The project, which is carried out in collaboration with other research and industrial partners, is to develop a digital intelligence platform capable of radically innovating the visiting experience and knowledge of the artistic and cultural heritage.

This is achieved by exploiting available content (analyzed and tailored to the user's preferences) and sensors present on site. The components have the ability to provide advanced content (such as VR and AR experiences) as well as localized, more importantly, to offer a personalized experience to the user based on preferences and behavior. This feature is based on a wide backend of various content types and the ability to connect and group these contents so that the user can receive them in a consistent and timely manner. Therefore, the aim of the project is to develop and test an infrastructure that will be set up and tested in one or more sites of interest in the convergence regions. The infrastructure will contain components related to guided use, advanced interaction via VR and AR, integration of active sensors for using and monitoring the site of interest.

Geocart is involved in research activities on the optimization of relevant techniques and procedures for the construction of 3D digital models of cultural assets intended for mobile application and consumer devices in subsequent experimentation of constructing process and using 3D digital models of cultural assets on case studies identified as part of a specific demonstrator.

The overall infrastructure will have an impact on the application sector of culture and tourism.
